Most recently, we visited Prague once again, and we expected much higher prices due to the recent inflation. We were pleasantly surprised to see budget-friendly rates once again in Prague.

Further below, I broke down the expected prices. Compare rates in a table for accommodations, transport, food, and sights. I have added an example calculation at the bottom.

How to Read This Guide
The prices and rates are shown in USD so that you know what to expect.
1 USD is about 23 CZK (Czech Koruna, the local currency).
I have created tables with average daily rates for accommodation types, fixed transport, museums, activities, and food and drink prices.
All prices are an approximate all-year average for all accommodations.
The cost is higher in the peak season and lower in the lowest season, but the margin isn't that big (except for New Year!!).
Tour and museum rates can be higher if you choose special tours or museums.

Accommodation Cost
The rates are calculated as an annual average for 2 adults per night.
| Accommodation Type, per Night for 2 adults | Price |
| Mid-Range Hotel Room | $75-$200 |
| Luxury Hotel Room | $200-$500 (prices are 4 to 10 times more on New Year's Day) |
| Budget Hotel Room | $30-$75 |
| Mid-Range Vacation Rentals (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.) | $100-$200 |
| Luxury Vacation Rentals | $200+ |
| Budget Vacation Rentals | $50-$100 |
| Hostels | $10–$20 |
| City Tax | about $2 (50 CZK) per person per night, 18 years and onwards. |

Transportation
Public transport in Prague is efficient, and the infrastructure is set up well. We mostly moved around by tram and metro. I only think that the metro connections are a bit small compared to other European capitals.
That said, the prices are reasonable, and you should definitely opt in using public transport in Prague; it's just the better option. We have a guide for newbies that explains the European public transport system.

Public transport passes cover trams, metros (aka subways), buses, and normally also the Petrin funicular (it's down for maintenance).
| Tickets per adult | Price |
| Airport Transfer | Bus + Metro, $1.75 Airport Bus Transfer $4.50 Private Airport Transfer $40-$45 |
| 30 Minute One-Way Ticket | $1.30 |
| 90 Minute Ticket | $1.75 |
| 24 h Unlimited Rides Ticket | about $5.50 |
| 72 h Unlimited Rides Ticket | about $15 |
| Official Taxi kilometer fares day and night | about $1.50 per km and a base fare of $2.50 |
| Rent a Bike for a day | about $30 |
| Cycle Tour with Guide (3 hours) | about $50-$65 |

Food & Drink
We found that Prague was one of the most budget-friendly food destinations in Europe. The food is stellar, and the beer anyway, and the prices won't leave a hole in your wallet.
Note: Tipping is optional; it's absolutely not common, whatever these waiters make you believe. You tip when the service and food was wonderful, and then you round up.

| Price | |
| Mid-Range Meal per Person | $10-20 |
| Budget or Takeaway Meal per Person | $5-10 |
| Upscale Dining per Person | $20 |
| A pint of beer in one of the best beer nations in this world | $1.75–$2.50 |
| A Glass of Wine | $3–$6 |
| A cup of Black Coffee | $2–$3 |
| Bottled Water | $0.30 in a supermarket (1.5l) $1.50 in a restaurant (0.33l), tap water isn't free |

Museums and Attractions

| Museum or Attraction | Price per Person |
| National Museum | about $13 |
| Technical Museum | about $13 |
| Kafka Museum | about $11 |
| Jewish Quarter Museums | about $25 |
| Prague Castle (Main Circuit) with Golden Lane, St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George's Basilica, and Old Royal Palace rooms. | about $20 |
| Strahov Monastery | about $6.50 |
| Petrin Lookout Tower | about $9.00 |
| Vltava River Cruise (1 hour) | about $15-20 |

Example Calculation
I recommend writing down the total days that you intend to stay. Room rates are for 2 adults (solo rooms cost almost the same), and multiply by the days.
Do the same thing with intended meals and drinks per day, and multiply by total days in the city.

Rough Example, 3 day couple trip:
- Private Airport Transfer $45 x 2 transfers =$90
- Mid-Range Accommodation: $100 x 3 days = $300 + city tax $2 per person and day = $12 = Room total $312.
- 72h Public Transport Ticket x 2 persons = $30
- Food (breakfast at the hotel): 2 decent meals with drinks per day for 2 people, about $40 per meal for two x 2 meals = $80 per day x 3 days = $240
- Prague Castle visit: $20 per person = $40
Total 3-day couple trip with accommodation, airport transfer, public transport ticket, food, and Prague Castle visit = about $712
